Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Prayer Pause ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"), an agreement between you and Prayer Pause LLC. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

Description of Service

Prayer Pause is an application for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Android that provides:

Islamic prayer times for your location, provided by the third-party Aladhan service
Qibla (direction of Makkah) compass functionality
Optional focus features including app blocking during prayer times, focus sessions, and Proof Mode (unlocking by scanning a prayer spot you register with your camera)
Mindful interventions (reflection, dhikr, Quran reading, quizzes, and du'a)
Prayer tracking and streak features
Widgets, notifications, and alarms for prayer reminders
Optional premium features via subscription

User Accounts

Prayer Pause does not require you to create an account. The App stores your preferences and data locally on your device. The limited data that third-party services receive is described in our Privacy Policy.

On iPhone, iPad, and Mac, your settings and prayer data sync across your devices using your Apple iCloud account. On iPhone and iPad this happens automatically while you are signed in to iCloud, and on Mac you can turn it off in Settings. Android has no cloud sync. This sync is governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy.

Subscriptions and Payments

Prayer Pause offers optional premium features through in-app subscriptions. On iPhone, iPad, and Mac, all payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. On Android, all payments are processed by Google through Google Play.

Plans and prices are displayed in the App before purchase, in your local currency, and prices vary by country
Free trials are offered to eligible new subscribers only, as decided by Apple or Google. The weekly plan comes with a 3-day free trial and the annual plan with a 7-day free trial. The trial length is always shown in the App before you subscribe
The paid subscription starts automatically when a free trial ends, unless you cancel before the trial ends
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings (iPhone, iPad, and Mac) or in your Google Play subscription settings (Android)
Offers and codes (for example a discounted first year, or a Gift Premium code from a friend) are redeemed through Apple or Google and follow the terms shown when you redeem them. An offer or code can replace the standard free trial, and when it ends the subscription renews at the regular price unless you cancel
If your subscription or trial ends, Premium features switch off. Your settings, streaks, and history stay on your device
Refunds are handled by Apple (App Store purchases) or Google (Google Play purchases) according to their refund policies

We do not collect or store any payment information.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Prayer Pause only for its intended purpose and in compliance with all applicable laws. You may not:

Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App
Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
Redistribute or resell the App or any part of it

Intellectual Property

Prayer Pause and all its content, features, and functionality are owned by Prayer Pause LLC and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Disclaimers

Prayer Time Accuracy

Prayer times are calculated by the third-party Aladhan service using established Islamic calculation methods and the location you provide. While we strive for accuracy, times may vary slightly from local mosque schedules. Always verify important prayer times with your local Islamic authority.

Prayer Pause is a tool to assist with prayer scheduling and is not a substitute for Islamic knowledge or guidance from qualified scholars.

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Prayer Pause and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill.

In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
Providing notice through the App where appropriate

Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
